Split Pea Soup (Crock Pot)

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. dried split peas
  • 6 c. water or chicken broth
  • 1 celery rib, chopped
  • 1 c. peeled, chopped potatoes
  • 1 large carrot, chopped
  • 1/4 t. dried thyme or marjoram
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 t. dried basil
  • Cubed ham (optional)
  • Sour cream

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients except ham and sour cream in a crock pot. Cook on Low 8-12 hours, or on High 6 hours, until peas are tender.
  2. Blend if needed.
  3. Add ham.
  4. Serve with sour cream.

Servings: Serves 6-8.
