Popcorn (For Whirley-Pop Popper)

(adapted from Whirley-Pop)


  • ½ c. popping corn
  • 3 T. avocado oil
  • 6-7 T. butter, melted
  • Salt to taste


  1. Add popping corn and oil to popper.
  2. Place popper with added ingredients on the burner and set heat to medium to medium-high. Do not preheat burner.
  3. Hold the wooden handle with one hand and slowly turn the crank with the other. Continue cranking through the entire process (about 3 minutes) until you only hear an occasional pop or until the crank becomes somewhat difficult to turn. Remove from heat immediately.
  4. Open the lid flap and pour the popped corn into a serving bowl. Let stand a minute or two to maximize crispness.
  5. Add butter, salt or other seasonings.

Servings: about 14 cups popped corn
