Chocolate Angel Pie

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tarter
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp. vanillla


  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 4 oz. bar of German chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla


Crust Directions

  1. Combine egg whites, cream or tarter and salt in a mixing bowl. Beat until foamy. Add sugar 1 Tbsp. at a time, beating after each addition until sugar is blended. Beat until mix stands in very stiff peaks. Fold in finely chopped pecans and vanilla. Stir in a 8' greased pie pan. Make a nest like shell building up 1/2 above pan. Bake in slow oven at 300 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Cool at room temperature.

Filling Directions

  1. Melt chocolate with water. Whip cream until stiff. Add melted chocolate and vanilla. Put in pie shell. Let stand two hours until firm.
