Chewy Carmel Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white karo syrup
  • 1 stick butter, cubed
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp  vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 12 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpoppoed)

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, syrup, butter and salt. Heat in microwave for 30 seconds.
  2. Stir, heat for 2 minutes. Stir and heat for 2 more minutes.
  3. Add vanilla and baking soda and stir. Let sit for 10-15 seconds.
  4. Pour and mix over popcorn, spread on cookie sheet to cool.

Note: For crunchy popcorn put in oven at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. Stir and repeat twice.
