Ingredients:
Cake
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups flour (1/2 whole grain)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Topping
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
- Cream sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla until well blended.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add buttermilk and flour mixture alternating to sugar mixture, beating well after each addition.
- For Topping: Combine nuts, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon - cut in butter
- Put half the topping mixture on bottom, half on top
- Bake in greased 9x13 pan at 350° for 25-30 minutes
