Mozzarella Sticks

  • 12 pieces string cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for deep-fat frying
  • Meatless spaghetti sauce


  1. Place a piece of string cheese near the bottom corner of one egg roll wrapper; fold bottom corner over cheese.
  2. Roll up halfway; fold sides toward center over cheese.
  3. Moisten remaining corner with water; roll up tightly to seal.
  4. Repeat with remaining wrappers and cheese.
  5. In a pot, heat 1/2 inch of oil to 375º (or when a small piece of food starts to sizzle when dropped into oil).
  6. Fry sticks, 4 at a time, for about 30-60 seconds on each side OR until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve with spaghetti sauce.

Servings: Makes 12 sticks.
