Apple Pie Filling

This recipe is adapted from Breanna's kitchen


  • 6 c. apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 T. flour
  • 3/4 t. cinnamon
  • 2 T. lemon juice
  • 1 c. sugar or 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 1/2 c. water

Note: Breanna adds 1/8 t. ground nutmeg.


  1. Mix all ingredients in saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until thick and bubbly, or longer, if desired.
  2. To make pie: Fill a double crust pastry and bake for 50-55 minutes in preheated 350º oven.
  3. To freeze filling (without pastry): put in Ziploc bag and freeze. Thaw filling before baking.

Servings: Enough for one pie.
