Venetian Beef Pie

Ingredients:

  • One 10 inch unbaked pastry shell AND one pastry roll for top (I use oil pie crust)
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 T. oil
  • 1 t. oregano
  • 1/2 t. garlic
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 3 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 2 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • Milk
  • Pepper
  • Garlic salt

Directions:

  1. In 2 T. oil, sauté the ground beef, bell pepper, and onion.
  2. Add oregano, garlic, and salt.
  3. Layer 1/2 of sliced zucchini and meat mixture in the bottom of pastry shell.
  4. Combine bread crumbs and cheese and put ½ of it on top of meat mixture.
  5. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with sliced tomatoes.
  7. Pour remaining 2 T. oil over all and put on top crust.
  8. Brush with milk; dust with pepper and garlic salt.
  9. Bake in pre-heated 350-degree oven for 1 hour.

Servings: Serves 6-8.
