  • 1/4 c. butter or chicken fat
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. chicken broth
  • 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 chicken breasts, roasted and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 c. sour cream
  • 2 heads broccoli, steamed
  • Hot rice


  1. Over medium heat, melt butter or chicken fat in large saucepan.
  2. Stir in flour and cook until bubbly.
  3. Add broth and Worcestershire sauce; continue to cook and stir until thickened.
  4. Add cheese; stir while melting.
  5. Add cooked chicken.
  6. Add sour cream and stir just until mixed.
  7. Layer on plates: rice, broccoli and chicken sauce.

Servings: Serves 6-8.
