Shredded Barbecued Beef

This recipe has been adapted from Terry DePriest.
 

Ingredients:

  • 4 lb. rump roast
  • 3 T. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. dehydrated onions
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 2/3 c. salsa
  • 1/4 c. rice vinegar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 T. mustard
  • 2 T. molasses
  • 2 T. lemon juice
  • 1/4 t. cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 t. pepper

Additional items

  • Hamburger buns

Directions:

  1. Brown roast in oil.
  2. Put roast in crock pot and cook on High for 4-6 hours.
  3. Shred roast and return to crock pot.
  4. Mix all other ingredients and into shredded roast.
  5. Serve immediately or turn crock pot to Low.

Servings: Serves 16-20.
